100 Days to Brave - Day 1

"For I am the Lord your God who take hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." Isaiah 41:13

I don't tend to identify as being a brave person. I don't like roller coasters, scary movies, or looking out into my backyard at night. But I suppose none of these qualify as being NOT brave either. Instead of looking at my fears, I need to flip my thinking and focus on what I've endeavored to do, successful or not.

I walked along side my mother as she battled cancer.

I held her hand when she died.

I brought two children into this world.

I'm raising two children in a divisive and hate filled world.

I earned two masters degrees.

I started running.

I ran 3 marathons and am training for #4.

I set goals.

I keep setting goals.

Maybe none of this is how others define bravery. I know that none of this would have been or would be possible without a little bit, and at times, a whole lot of courage.
